Gilberto Hernandez is an intellectual property attorney with over fifteen years of legal experience, including experience in both law firm and, small and large, in-house corporate legal environments. Additionally, he brings over five years of industry engineering experience as an electrical engineer.
Gilberto has in-depth legal experience and knowledge in all intellectual property (IP) protection areas including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyright, IP portfolio development & management, and IP litigation strategy & management. He has extensive experience managing and leading an intellectual property legal function, and developing and implementing: IP strategy, IP protection processes and infrastructure, freedom to operate (FTO) clearance analysis, IP protection training programs and competitive patent landscape assessments. He also possesses extensive transaction related experience in the areas of intellectual property licensing and agreements, Joint Development Agreements (JDA), commercial contracts, and confidentiality agreements.
Gilberto takes a collaborative approach to effectively and efficiently resolving client IP and legal needs. He believes in getting to know a client and fully understanding a client's products, business and markets to practically and best serve a client, and to proactively anticipate and address IP issues.
